ENRIC BUG (Port Bou, 1957). "Couple of mannequins", 1983. Resin and fiberglass. It shows signs of use and slight damage. Presents Febrer stamp. Measurements: 56 x 46 x 18 cm (x2). This work composed of two sculptures made of glass resin, presents two completely identical images. The two works represent a torso that starts from the human forms, blurring them and looking for abstraction. Both the angularity of the face and the copper-colored finish, together with the vertical stripe indicating the area of the eyes, give the piece an industrial aesthetic finish. The pieces are dated to the early 1980s, when Enric Bug designed mannequins with an anthropomorphic robot appearance, and with no facial expression, as sculptures. Enric Buc is known for his work as a comic book writer and as an industrial designer. His interest in art began at an early age, starting to design posters at the age of 16. In 1978, he made his first foray into the world of comics, with the story called The speed kills, and that same year he designed the cover of the song Himme de la Unió, by the group tramuntana. A year later he moved to Barcelona, where he began working at Editorial Producciones Editoriales, while collaborating with Star magazine. Throughout his career he has participated in numerous publications, such as the magazine Vibraciones, Rampa, Rock Espezial, and Playboy. His work reflects an influence of pop aesthetics, where he develops a whole imaginary inspired by Hollywood. In the 80's, he decided to create his own company Bug Rogers + Comets, although later he dedicated himself to industrial design, working at the same time as an illustrator, collaborating with the designs of several discotheques such as Fata Morgana,Charly etc.
